Three Injured in Monday Crash in County

Three people were injured in a crash just after 5pm Monday on the Effingham-Fayette county line.

The crash happened on Illinois Route 128, just north of 1000th Avenue in Mound Township. The Effingham County Sheriff's office reports a truck driven by 22-year-old Michael Proctor of Decatur crossed the center line and collided head-on with a vehicle driven by 23-year-old Taylor Buzzard of St. Elmo. Both units ended up off the roadway in a ditch.

Both Proctor and Buzzard were injured, as was Proctor's passenger, 49-year-old Kathryn Brelsfoard of Decatur. Proctor and Buzzard were taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, while Brelsfoard was taken to HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

Proctor was cited for improper lane usage.
