New Sentencing Date Set for Young

A new sentencing date has been scheduled in the case of Charles Young.

The traveling dance instructor is now set to be sentenced on March 15 in Effingham County Circuit Court.

A jury here found Young guilty in December of criminal sexual assault. Young was charged with sexual conduct with an underage dance student. He claimed he was with another individual when the offense was alleged to have occurred.

The sentencing was originally scheduled for this month. Criminal sexual assault is a Class 1 felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison.
