Effingham Public Library beat Kansas City, Missouri’s Central Branch over the weekend in the Engaging Local Government Leaders’ Best Public Library Contest and now faces Sterling Municipal Library, Baytown, Texas in the Sweet 16 Round.

The national contest pits public libraries against each other in a bracket style tournament. Residents vote online for their favorite public library and whichever one has the most votes advances in the bracket. The winner will earn the coveted Leslie B. Knope Best Public Library Trophy, based on the fictional, enthusiastic character from the hit show “Parks and Recreation.”

Effingham has advanced through 2 rounds beating libraries with significantly larger populations in rounds and one and two and is now facing yet another uphill battle against their bracket’s 2nd seeded Library. You can participate in the contest by voting HERE! http://elgl.org/2018/02/05/baytown-v-effingham/

Voting for the Sweet 16 round ends this Friday, February 9 at 11 p.m. sharp!
