A Charleston man is in custody for allegedly cutting the throats of two individuals in Charleston Wednesday night.

21-year-old Blackie M. Veach was arrested on counts of attempted first degree murder and aggravated battery.

Charleston police were called at 9:16pm Wednesday to a residence in the 10 block of West Locust.  Officers found two victims with knife wounds to their throats.  A female victim was taken to Carle Hospital in Urbana for treatment, while a male victim was treated for injuries at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Coles County.  The identities of the victims were not released by police.

Authorities say both knife wound victims are expected to be released soon.
