Three people were injured in a crash Wednesday night in Clay County.

State police report a car driven by 26-year-old Natasha Prather of Clay City was traveling on US Route 50 when her car crossed the center line. Prather then overcorrected and her car struck a car stopped on the shoulder of the highway driven by 35-year-old Prentice Gibson of Evansville, Indiana. The impact shoved Gibson's car further off the shoulder of the highway, while Prather's car continued for approximately 220 feet and ran off the roadway into a ditch. Prather's car ended up in the ditch.

Prather and her juvenile passenger were injured and were taken to Clay County Hospital in Flora for treatment, while Gibson was flown to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville for treatment.

Prather was cited for improper lane usage and for operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

The crash happened shortly before 7:30pm Wednesday near Mayflower Road.
