Effingham Water Authority trustees heard this month from representatives of EJ Water Cooperative about making sewer service available to lake residents.

EJ Water CEO Bill Teichmiller spoke about the opportunity for "innovative water solutions" at the lake. Numerous residents have asked about sewer services. After talking with developers in the area, the desire is there to move forward with the opportunity.

EJ Water has also been in contact with the City of Effingham and Lake Sara Area Water Cooperative.

The topic is currently at a discussion point, but officials will look for additional information and discussions in the near future.

Also at this month's meeting, Ed and Sue Ann Minor addressed the board regarding a variance request. The board will conduct a review of the property within the next few weeks prior to making a final decision.

Tracy Burton introduced Ted Rhodes as the new president of the Good Neighbor Association, and trustees learned that board member Jim Boos is in the process of compiling numbers for updates to the Community Building. This information will be passed on to Tom Ryan for reference on the Pearson Peninsula Project. Board members also signed leases in regards to the Larson Subdivision lots that were approved at the November meeting.

Kevin and Carrie Schultz, who run the Dairy Bar in Altamont, were introduced at the meeting as the new sub-lessors of the current Pinky's. The Schultzes, who are also affiliated with Deb's Catering in Altamont, plan to offer customer favorites and new items to "Schultz's Pinky's" this summer.
