March Trial Date Set for Mesnard

A March trial date has been set for Byron Mesnard, the area man charged with shooting another man during an altercation in the Boggsville community.

The 20-year-old Mesnard faces a Class X felony count of aggravated battery involving use of a firearm and a felony count of aggravated discharge of a firearm.  Mesnard is accused of firing a rifle numerous times, wounding 23-year-old Shane Gephart.

A pre-trial for Mesnard was set for February 20.
