Alma Man Arrested on Several Charges Including Firing a Gun in Salem Home

28-year-old Rollie Rozkiewicz of Broadway Street in Alma is being held in the Marion County Jail for alleged home invasion, aggravated discharge of a firearm, two counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon because of a revoked FOID card, fleeing police, and resisting or obstructing arrest.

Salem Police first received a call from the victim who resides in the 1000 block of North Jackson Street at 6:20 Saturday morning. She reported that Rozkiewicz had kicked in the door of the home, ran through the house, and fired the shot from a rifle before going back outside and possibly firing a second shot.

Rozkiewicz left the scene in his pickup truck. Sheriff's deputies were notified in the event he headed towards his home in Alma. A few minutes later, a deputy located Rozkiewicz's truck entering Alma. The deputy attempted a traffic stop, but Rozkiewicz reportedly didn't stop until pulling into the driveway at his home.

At that point, Rozkiewicz was allegedly unruly with the deputy and was tased. After that, he was reportedly handcuffed and taken into custody about 20 minutes after the incident was first reported.

Salem Police say the gun allegedly used was found in the pickup truck. They also report finding evidence of the shot being fired inside the home on North Jackson Street.
