HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital wants to inform the public about a phone scam in the area.

The Caller ID may identify it as St. Anthony’s Hospital and has a message about paying your hospital bill, but actually wants to talk about social security number and date of birth. Please be aware that this is not a call from St. Anthony’s and is someone who has spoofed the hospital information via phone and caller ID.

As always, be cautious with phone callers soliciting information or assistance, and never give out personal info over the phone. Please be assured that St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital does not release any of your personal contact information to this type of third-party business. If you are suspicious of any call claiming to be from the hospital, do not share any information without confirming that the caller is legitimate. To do this, ask the caller for their extension to call them back, then call St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital's main number, 217-342-2121, and ask for that extension.

HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital is part of the Southern Illinois Division of Hospital Sisters Health System, which also includes HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon, HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese, HSHS Holy Family Hospital in Greenville, and HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital in Highland.
