Man Arrested After Reported Hostage Incident in Louisville

A Flora man has been arrested after an alleged hostage incident over the weekend.

35-year-old Joshua M. Moheit was arrested following the incident alleged to have occurred about 1am Sunday.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office received a report from Casey's General Store in Louisville that a man had just been in the store and stated he was being held hostage by a man in a silver truck. Witnesses relayed to the deputy that the victim stated he had been threatened by the man in the truck with a weapon. 

The deputy located a vehicle matching the description of the suspect's vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy took Moheit into custody without incident.

Moheit was arrested on counts of driving while his license is suspended, aggravated unlawful restraint and obstructing justice. Moheit's bond was set at $40,000. He is being held in Clay County Jail in Louisville.
