Mid-morning Tuesday was a busy time for Effingham firefighters.

Firefighters were initially called to Villas of Hollybrook due to what turned out to be burnt food in a residence.

While there, firefighters were called to a residence in Lakewood Manor Mobile Home Park due to a smell of smoke report. The resident told firefighters that the lights went out, then came right back on. When the lights came back on, the children playing in a back bedroom told their mom that they smelled smoke and could see smoke. Firefighters checked the entire structure and found nothing.

While headed to that call, firefighters got another call to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital. That call was triggered by steam in a mechanical room on the second floor triggered by the cold weather. Hospital crews dealt with the steam and that concluded that call.

While a busy time for firefighters, none of the three calls resulted in any fires or any injuries.
