Two local men were injured in a single-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon.

The crash happened at 4:40pm on 1400th Avenue, a quarter-mile east of 2300th Street in St. Francis Township.

Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports a SUV driven by 23-year-old Aaron Castillo of Effingham was westbound when the vehicle ran off the right edge of the roadway. Deputies report Castillo overcorrected and slid sideways across the road, causing the unit to overturn as it slid.

Castillo was injured as was his passenger, 18-year-old Victor Castillo of Effingham. Both men were taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Aaron Castillo was cited for no valid driver's license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
