State Crop Report for Week Ending November 26

Illinois producers are working on fall tillage and completing harvest activities across the state.

There were 5.3 days suitable for fieldwork during the week ending November 26. Statewide, the average temperature was 40 degrees, 1.2 degrees above normal. Precipitation averaged zero, 0.76 inches below normal.

Topsoil moisture supply was rated at 10% short, 83% adequate, and 7% surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated at 3% very short, 17% short, 78% adequate, and 2% surplus. 

Winter wheat emerged was at 95%, right on the five-year average. Winter wheat conditions was rated 5% very poor, 6% poor, 27% fair, 47% good, and 15% excellent.

Pasture and range condition was rated 8% very poor, 10% poor, 42% fair, 38% good, and 2% excellent.

This is the final weekly crop progress and condition report for 2017. Monthly reports will be released January through March, with weekly reports resuming in April.
