More Filings for Precinct Committeeman in Effingham County

Six more individuals have filed for precinct committeeman in Effingham County. 

The precinct committeeman serve to promote their political party and its candidates. They are elected in the March primary to work until the general election in November.

Those who have filed are Republicans Kent Stuckey in Mound 1, Thomas Vahling in St. Francis Township and Jeff Simpson in Mound 2, and Democrats Linda Repking in Watson 3, Daniel Niebrugge in Douglas 1, and Glen Donaldson in Liberty Township.

Democrat Karen Luchtefeld filed for another term on the Effingham County Board from District C late Wednesday afternoon. Board member Democrat Doug McCain had filed earlier for another term from District G. The other two incumbents up for re-election in 2018 are Board Chairman Jim Niemann and Vice-Chairman Dave Campbell, both Republicans. Both have indicated they plan to seek another term.

The filing period continues through Monday.
