Lawn Mower Fire Also Destroys Shed in T-Town

A lawn mower caught fire Monday afternoon in Teutopolis. The fire also destroyed the shed in which it was stored.

Teutopolis firefighters were summoned by Pauline Hoedebecke to her residence at 307 West Northern Row at 12:31pm. Chad Mette of the Teutopolis Fire Protection District said Hoedebecke told firefighters she had just finished mowing some leaves and had stored the mower when it began sparking. She got out of the shed safely. The mower caught fire, and also destroyed the 16' by 16' shed.

Mette said firefighters were on scene about an hour. No one was injured.
