An Effingham man was shot to death in Decatur Saturday night, and another Effingham man was wounded.

The man fatally wounded was 48-year-old Todd Daniel Feldkamp.

Sgt. Christopher Copeland of Decatur Police Department said police were contacted by neighbors at 8:44pm Saturday of shots being fired. Police found Feldkamp dead in the backyard at 1660 North Edward in Decatur.

A press release indicated a wounded 25-year-old, also from Effingham, was also located in the area. The injured man was taken to a local hospital for treatment of what police termed serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. Copeland said Monday morning that the wounded man's name is not being released as it's related to the investigation.

The Macon County Coroner's Office said an inquest was performed on Sunday morning and the preliminary results indicate Feldkamp died due to multiple gunshot wounds. An inquest will be conducted into the manner of Feldkamp's death once all information on the shooting is in.
