Fire has destroyed a warehouse in St. Louis.

That's giving you an opportunity to help.

The fire burned all day Wednesday and into the night. No one was killed, but people were taken for treatment of smoke inhalation.

Among the items stored in the warehouse were toys that had been collected for distribution at Shriners Hospital for Children. The toys were to be given out at a Christmas party at the hospital in early December. 30 pallets of blankets were also destroyed.

Here's where you can help.

RuralMed EMS is partnering with Shriners to collect toys to replace those lost in the fire. RuralMed EMS will deliver the toys and items collected to the Shriners.

Drop off locations have been established at RuralMed locations in Vandalia, Farina and Salem. The Vandalia location is at 2515 West Veterans Avenue, Unit 2A, just north of Sweet Peas. The Farina station is at 208 South Locust. The Salem location is at 113 South Jefferson.

For more information, phone Jerrod Estes of RuralMed EMS at 217-994-2046.

Milano and Grunloh in Effingham is also collecting toys for the effort. One of the staff members at Milano and Grunloh has a child who has benefitted from the work of the Shriners, so they want to help. Take toys by their office downtown at 114 West Washington or phone the office at 217-347-7262.
