The attorney for Barry Wolfe was unavailable for a scheduled appearance in Coles County Circuit Court Thursday morning.

The 53-year-old Wolfe faces a 13-count information alleging aggravated criminal sexual abuse and criminal sexual assault. The area AAU coach is accused of improper actions against a girl between the ages of 13 and 17 in 2014 and 2015.

Wolfe was scheduled to make his first appearance with his attorney, but Wolfe appeared via closed circuit TV without his attorney. Wolfe told Judge Brien O'Brien that he will be represented by attorney Ed Pirano, but said Pirano is currently out of the country.

Wolfe's case is next due in court on November 16. A preliminary hearing is scheduled that morning, along with a hearing on whether Wolfe's $500,000 bond should be amended.

In the meantime, Wolfe remains in Coles County Safety and Detention Center in Charleston.
