Altamont Teenager Injured in Crash

An Altamont teenager was injured in a single-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon.

State police report a pickup truck driven by the 17-year-old male was headed southbound on the Altamont Blacktop, about four miles north of Farina, when the crash happened. Police say the rear passenger side tire blew out, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and overturn.

The youth, whose name was not released by state police, was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

No citations were issued.
