Teutopolis Village Board Approves Farmweld Agreement, Subdivision Plat

Teutopolis village board members have approved an agreement with Farmweld that will utilize revenue from the new Tax Increment Financing district being developed in the village.

The agreement with Farmweld totals $1,448,400 and will provide funding for office space, a loading dock, a parking lot and other improvements for the local business that has grown international in scope.

The village board also passed an ordinance authorizing the sale of real estate, specifically the lots in the new residential area known as Prairieview Subdivision in the southeast part of the village. Village Clerk Sharon Will said packets related to the subdivision are to be available November 6. A plat of the subdivision was also approved.

The Board also approved Ron Probst's request to authorize Village Board President Greg Hess to sign a second Tax Increment contract with Wooden Shoe Development for West Main TIF funds for an amount not to exceed $90,485.61. The allocation is related to plans to develop a second street in the commercial park on the west edge of the village.

Board members also:

--heard from local resident Jerry Runde who plans to build a house along Race Street and wants to tile the ditch in front of the property

--agreed to allow the purchase of a salt spreader for the street department

--awarded a bid for $7,100 to Winterrowd Excavating for re-roofing the village hall

--agreed to renew membership in the Effingham Regional Growth Alliance and pay membership dues of $5,000

--approved the tax levy and assessment for the fiscal year
