Two semis collided Wednesday east of Effingham, tying up traffic on eastbound I-70 for some time.

The crash happened at 4:18pm, seven miles east of Montrose.

State police report 48-year-old Richard Irving of Haltom City, Texas, was distracted in his vehicle and crashed into the rear of a rig driven by 41-year-old Felipe Franco Cantu of Weslaco, Texas.

Both rigs had to be towed from the scene, resulting in the traffic tie-up. Cantu was taken for treatment of minor injuries to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Irving was cited for following too closely.
