Juvenile Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle in Flora

A juvenile pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Flora Monday afternoon.

State police say the pedestrian, whose name was not released, was along the roadway near the intersection of 3rd and Elm when the dog the pedestrian was walking got away. The pedestrian began to run after the dog and did not check for oncoming traffic. The pedestrian ran into the street and was struck by a SUV driven by 60-year-old Robert Coble of Flora.

The pedestrian was injured and was taken to Clay County Hospital in Flora. Coble was not injured.

No citations were issued. The incident occurred at 3:15pm.
