Throughout October 2017, the Teutopolis High School Student Council, in cooperation with the Eastern Illinois District Association of Student Councils (EIDASC), will be collecting donations for HOPE of East Central Illinois, a coalition against domestic violence. HOPE’s mission is to empower persons to live independent, non-violent lives through the provisions of Housing, Outreach, Prevention, and Education.
HOPE provides a safe, healthy environment for people who have escaped harmful relationships. If these people are able to receive the materials they need to live independently, they will hopefully not feel the need to return to an unsafe environment. Any donation helps HOPE provide amenities and spaces for those people to live. See the list below for suggested donations.
The THS student council would like to invite the public participate in their donation drive for HOPE. Boxes for donations will be located at the following establishments until Thursday, November 3:
- St. Francis Church, Teutopolis, IL
- Teutopolis State Bank, 106 E Main St, Teutopolis, IL
- Dieterich Bank of Teutopolis, 1510 E Fayette Ave, Effingham, IL
- Dieterich Bank of Effingham, 510 W Fayette Ave, Effingham, IL
