The Suzette Brumleve Memorial Effingham Public Library Board has approved a new organizational chart. The move comes after adoption of a new strategic plan for the library as well as the departure of two managers.

Library Director Amanda McKay said the new chart includes an assistant director, as well as a User Experience Manager and a Program Outreach Manager. McKay said there had always been an assistant director until her hiring, so this is restoring the position. The other posts address what goes on inside the library, as well as efforts outside the building. The posts have been posted internally at the library. McKay said they hope to fill the positions by week's end.

Board members also approved updated or new job descriptions, salary ranges by class, and an updated personnel budget for the coming fiscal year.

The Board approved an action plan for the balance of 2017. The plan includes hosting a Welcoming Event for new residents to the Effingham community, something like a "Rake and Run" where participants will do nice things for local residents and then be on their way, and student-led book discussions.

No new information was heard on the draft levy for the new fiscal year or on the attempts to sell the former library location along Market Avenue.
