A Mattoon man has been arrested on a burglary count for breakins and thefts at Effingham Country Club.

32-year-old Dory W. Gordon was arrested in Mattoon by Effingham City Police detectives.

Effingham City Police Chief Jeff Fuesting said four burglaries occurred during a period from June through this month. Fuesting said the burglaries occurred in storage sheds where golfers at the Country Club stow their carts and golf equipment, and said various items were taken in the thefts.

Bond for Gordon, who was indicted by an Effingham County Grand Jury for the burglaries this week, has been set at $25,000. He is next due in court on Monday for his first appearance with counsel. No trial date has been set.
