A rural Watson man is being sought on counts of burglary and possession of stolen property.

38-year-old Travis Tarrant is the suspect in at least two recent incidents.

Effingham County Sheriff Dave Mahon Friday said Tarrant is a suspect in the taking of tools valued at close to $5,000 from a residence in Watson sometime between September 4th and 7th.

Mahon said Tarrant is also being sought for the burglary of a garage on Franklin Avenue in Effingham on September 18. The sheriff said some $10,000 in tools were taken in that incident.

Mahon said some of the items taken in those incidents have been recovered from a pawn shop in Mattoon.

Those with information as to Tarrant's whereabouts are encouraged to contact the Effingham County Sheriff's Office at 217-342-2101. You may also phone Crimestoppers at 217-34SOLVE. Callers to Crimestoppers can receive a reward of up to $1,000 on arrests leading to a felony conviction.
