Teutopolis school board members Monday heard from officials from Upchurch and Associates Architects on plans for the Teutopolis High School building.

The school board is looking at renovating the existing building, or replacing the oldest portion of the building, constructed in 1929. The replacement work could include an addition that could be built on the west end of the building and then some sort of connection linking the two remaining existing portions of the building.

The Board also discussed scheduling a special meeting for the public to do building walkthroughs and review the construction or renovation plans.

Board members Monday agreed to schedule at the October meeting a presentation from representatives of Tick Tock Energy on how the District could possibly utilize solar panels, and voted to pass the budget for the coming fiscal year. The Board also approved the audit of the past fiscal year's books, and approved some policy changes for first reading.

Board members discussed a new school bus, but asked for more information on leasing a bus fleet, and agreed to accept sealed bids on sale of a district automobile. The Board also discussed and considered a clarification to board policy regarding athletic training on village streets, but no action was taken. Board members also hired Kyla Hall as a high school Scholar Bowl coach.
