Dieterich Superintendent Cary Jackson said it's close, but the District budget for the new fiscal year is balanced.

Jackson presented projected income and expenditure figures to the Board Monday night. The projection is that $6,915 more will come in than go out this fiscal year.

Jackson did have a caveat that the budget includes all the revenue owed the District through State funding.

The Board approved the budget, and also approved the Administrator and Teacher Salary Report for posting on the District website.

Dieterich board members also approved a maternity leave for high school teacher Hayley Pals, and renewed the District's membership in the Association of Illinois Rural and Small Schools. Membership provides a district access to grants and the opportunity to advocate for rural and small schools in the state.

10th-day enrollment in the Dieterich district is 318 at the elementary building and 193 at the junior-senior high school building. The 511 students enrolled compares to 494 enrolled last year.

The Dieterich board also hired Mindy Mahnke, Nicole Flood, Cassie Fletcher and Kelsey Fletcher as after school program aides.
