Car/Motorcycle Crash on I-57 Injures One

Preliminary investigative details from the State Police indicate Saturday night at 8:11 pm a car driven by Taylor M. Buzzard, 23, of St Elmo, struck the rear of a motorcycle operated by Jeremy L. Mullins, 43, of Bethalto, as both units were traveling southbound in the right lane of Interstate 57 three miles north of Effingham. 

The motorcycle became lodged in the front of the car and remained upright on its wheels.  Both units came to a stop together in the middle of the roadway.

Mullins was injured and was transported to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital by ambulance.

Buzzard was charged with Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid a Crash.
