North Clay school board members Wednesday approved a two-year contract agreement with the North Clay Education Association.

The teacher contract covers this school year and the 2018-2019 school year. The agreement involves a 2.5% increase plus a step increase for two years.

Once the teacher contract was approved, the Board set the salaries of Tina Gaddy, Jami Lewis, Adrian Guzman, Chad Traub and administrators except for Jessica Guzman and Brian Deadmond, whose pay rates had been set earlier.

The Board also approved a maternity leave for Melissa Bible from mid-September through the first of November. Also approved was the resignation of Matthew Tolliver as high school fall assistant baseball coach, and the employment of Hunter Clifton to replace Tolliver.

The vote to approve Clifton was 4-2, after a vote to hire him for the position in July failed on a 3-3 vote. All other votes Wednesday were unanimous.

Board member Jenny McKinney was not present for the meeting.
