Teutopolis Village Board members have given verbal assurance for TIF funding help for an expansion project at Farmweld.

Lori Runde, Ryan Jansen, Aaron Niebrugge and John Wakefield were all on hand from Farmweld to discuss the project, which will include a new building. Farmweld is seeking $52,140 in TIF funds, as the revenues are generated. Under the agreement, Farmweld will proceed with construction of a 115 foot by 149 foot warehouse, and the Village would reimburse for the development costs up to the promised amount. Farmweld officials have indicated additional projects will be forthcoming.

The village board also approved a preliminary plat of the second addition to the Commercial Subdivision, with a pledge to waive a requirement for sidewalks. The Board also approved a preliminary plat of Prairie View Subdivision, the residential development planned on the southeast side of the village. Tracy Willenborg was retained as the attorney for the village for items related to the subdivision.
