New this year at the Illinois State Fair is the "Game Zone" located in the Orr Building, on the west side of the Fairgrounds, just inside Gate 8.

Geared toward all ages, kids and adults alike can take a break from the heat and get their game on in this large air-conditioned facility. Best described as a true family-friendly destination, the Game Zone will feature 39,000 square feet of inflatables, video games, putt-putt golf, and much, much more.

The Game Zone opened to fairgoers on Wednesday and runs through the end of the fair Sunday. The hours of operation will be noon to 7:00 pm.  A $5 bracelet, purchased at the Orr Building, is good for one day of unlimited gaming fun.

The Chicago Blackhawks will make a one day appearance at the Game Zone on Wednesday. A giant inflatable rink, measuring 70 ft. x 30 ft. will be available for demos, clinics, and competitions throughout the day run by the Chicago Blackhawks organization.

The Illinois State Fair is taking place at the State Fairgrounds in Springfield.
