Dieterich school board members Monday reviewed the tentative budget for the coming fiscal year.

Dieterich Superintendent Cary Jackson said the measure reflects revenues of $4,319,696 and expenditures of $4,297,996, resulting in a possible surplus of $21,700. Revenues are projected to increase $195,432 from the previous year while expenditures are projected to decrease by $5,388.

Jackson stressed that all of the budget assumptions are based on the State coming through with revenue promised the district. He also stated that this is the first balanced tentative budget he has presented in six years.

The Board agreed to place the proposed budget on display for a final vote at the September meeting.

In personnel moves, the Dieterich board approved a leave of absence for 5th grade teacher Dana Pals for a maternity leave from November to February; approved resignations from Courtney Will as an elementary aide and from Gina Campbell as high school volleyball coach; and hired Clayton Campton as part-time elementary aide, Lyndsae Westrich as fulltime elementary aide, Alyssa Lane as after school program aide, and Tena Westendorf as head high school volleyball coach.

There was also information shared on registration. Elementary principal Kathy Pattenaude reported 316 students have registered in Grades Pre-K through sixth; and new junior-senior high school principal Scott Kocher reported that 73 students have registered at the junior high and another 115 have signed up at the high school.
