Two people were taken for treatment after a crash in Watson Thursday morning.

The crash happened at 7:06am on Illinois Route 37 at Van Buren Street. Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports a car driven by 52-year-old Patricia Wright of St. Elmo pulled from a stop intersection onto the highway and collided with a tow truck driven by 58-year-old Jeffrey Hanner of Fithian.

The impact spun Wright's car to the left and the vehicle came to rest facing southbound, blocking both lanes of travel. Hanner's tow truck continued a half-block west and pulled off the road.

Wright and her passenger, 20-year-old Joplin Boothby of Charleston, were injured and were taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. Hanner was not injured.

Wright was cited for failure to yield at an intersection.
