Tuesday at the Fair

Tuesday will be a busy day at the Effingham County Fair.

This is the first day that the carnival will be in operation this year.

Another day of harness racing is on tap. Five races are scheduled today. Post time is 1pm. Hear the action on KJ Country 102.3 and www.kjcountry.com. 

The feature evening attraction is the Miss Effingham County Fair Queen Pageant and Little Miss Pageant. There are nine girls vying to succeed Ashley Jamerson as fair queen. The winner will compete at the Illinois County Fair Queen Pageant in Springfield in January. The victor there will serve as queen at the 2018 Illinois State Fair and DuQuoin State Fair.

There are 31 Little Misses in tonight's pageant. 

The pageant will begin at 7pm.

The Little Miss Pigtail final is tonight at 6:15pm. Girls should meet beneath the grandstand at 5:30pm to have their pigtails measured. The Effingham County Pork Producers sponsor the competition.

Bill Poss will appear on the Free Stage tonight.

Judging today will include Class H market barrows and breeding stock at 7:30am, and Class H dairy goats at 9:15am.
