Series of Storms Through Area Saturday Night

Big winds were a part of the storms that traveled through the Effingham area Saturday night and early Sunday morning.

Power outages resulted from downed lines and tree limbs. Listeners in the Mason area were out of power for two hours.

Our entire area was affected, as the National Weather Service issued severe thunderstorm warnings for Cumberland, Fayette, Clay, Jasper and Effingham Counties at various points through the night.
