St. Elmo Board Holds First Meeting w/Healy as Superintendent

The St. Elmo Board of Education held their first meeting Wednesday under the leadership of new Superintendent Julie Healy. 

Healy succeeded the retired Deborah Philpot as superintendent.

The Board approved the elementary and junior-senior high school handbooks for the coming school year; awarded bids for various commodities; directed Healy to begin work on a budget for the coming fiscal year; and approved interfund loans among various accounts.

In personnel moves, the St. Elmo board accepted a letter of resignation from Elise Asher as a teacher effective July 11, accepted a letter of resignation from Whitney Roedl as individual aide and Reponse to Intervention paraprofessional effective July 12, hired Erica Barker as fulltime elementary Science teacher, hired Abby Hill as half-time elementary Social Studies teacher and half-time Response to Intervention paraprofessional, and accepted a letter of resignation from Marissa Thomason as junior high cheerleading coach effective July 19.

The Board also approved a copier lease agreement.
