Three people, including an eight-year-old, were injured in a crash south of Farina on I-57 Wednesday morning.

The crash was reported to Illinois State Police at 7:15am. Police report a car driven by 56-year-old Clara Rojas-Manjarrez of Georgetown, Texas, was traveling south when the vehicle apparently blew a tire. The car swerved into a guardrail on the left side of the roadway. The vehicle skidded right, bouncing off the guardrail and across the southbound lanes. Rojas-Manjarrez then overcorrected to the left and the vehicle began to skid back across the southbound lanes and overturned, coming to rest in the median.

Rojas-Manjarrez was injured as were her passengers, George Cedillo of Georgetown, Texas and an eight-year-old girl from Waukegan. All three individuals were taken to Salem Community Hospital.

No citations were issued.
