One vote down, another to go, but the Governor's veto pen is already waiting.

The Illinois House passed a budget and a tax increase on Sunday. The bills passed with support from both Democrats and Republicans.

The tax increase would bring the income tax to 4.95% and the corporate tax to 7%.

Governor Bruce Rauner said in a statement Sunday he will veto the House's tax increase if the Senate passes it. Rauner wants more of his reforms to pass.

The House vote on the personal income tax hike was 72-45. The vote on the budget was 81-34.

The legislature has also voted to override the Governor's veto of Senate Bill 1811, which tied critical 911 emergency services to what Rauner termed a "massive tax hike on Illinois families and businesses".
