State Crop Report for Week Ending June 25

Cooler drier weather prevailed throughout the state last week as the wheat harvest and double crop planting continues.

There were 5.2 days suitable for fieldwork during the week ending June 25. Statewide, the average temperature was 71.4 degrees, 2.3 degrees below normal. Precipitation averaged 0.76 inches, 0.21 inches below normal.

Topsoil moisture supply was rated at 2% very short, 17% short, 78% adequate, and 3% surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated at 1% very short, 14% short, 83% adequate and 2% surplus.

Corn silking reached 2%, compared to 6% for the five-year average. Corn condition was rated at 2% very poor, 7% poor, 29% fair, 51% good, and 11% excellent.

Soybeans emerged was at 97%, up from 92% last year. Soybeans blooming was 7%, compared with 1% last year. Soybean condition was rated 2% very poor, 6% poor, 22% fair, 59% good, and 11% excellent.

Winter wheat harvest was 78% complete, compared to the five-year average of 47%. 

Pasture and range condition was rated at 1% very poor, 5% poor, 28% fair, 55% good, and 11% excellent.
