City Police Activity for Wednesday

An area teenager was injured in a crash early Wednesday morning west of the intersection of US Route 40 and Outer Belt West.

The crash happened at 3:40am when a vehicle driven by 16-year-old Austin Myers of Farina left the roadway and came to rest in a ditch.

Myers was injured and was taken for treatment to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. No citations were issued.

Damage was done to a building in the 800 block of East Jefferson at 2:46pm Wednesday.

City police say a semi driven by 60-year-old Guy Armstrong of Effingham drove under a telephone wire, pulling the wire from the building at 808 East Jefferson, causing damage to the soffit of the building.

No one was injured, and no citations were issued.
