The early cars were far apart but as the morning wore on, more and more came through in a long line.

Hot Rod Magazine's 23rd Annual Power Tour headed through Effingham today.

A variety of hot rods, street rods, custom trucks, muscle cars and performance machines were part of the tour.

The tour started Saturday in Kansas City and made its way to Champaign Tuesday, and traveled to Madison.

The entourage left Madison at 7am and took Interstate 70 to Vandalia. The tour left the interstate there traveling south on US 51 to US 40 and then headed east on Route 40. The vehicles traveled through Bluff City, Brownstown, St. Elmo and Altamont before coming through Effingham.

The vehicles stayed on Route 40 through Effingham and came right past our studios on their way through Teutopolis and Montrose to Martinsville, where they got back on Interstate 70. The group will finish up at Indianapolis, Ind. today.

Our Zak Dietzen live streamed the entourage on our Facebook page as they passed our studios.

The trip ends on Friday in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

A car resembling General Lee from the Dukes of Hazzard show went by with the owner waviing.

Seveal cars had their luggage traveling in unique ways with them.

There were all different cars and trucks traveling on Fayette.

The line got long several times during the morning hours.
