One Deer Involved in Two Crashes

One deer ended up involved in two crashes northwest of Effingham.
The crashes occurred on Illinois Route 33, a quarter-mile east of the junction with Illinois Route 32.
Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports a westbound vehicle driven by 30-year-old Marjorie Mugrage of Shumway struck a deer on the roadway.
The deer then went into the eastbound lane of the highway and was struck by a vehicle driven by 42-year-old Gregory Lueken of Effingham.
Mugrage was injured, as was her passenger, 11-year-old Hayden Welch of Shumway. Lueken was also injured, as was his passenger, 13-year-old Hanna Lueken of Effingham.
All four individuals were taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
No citations were issued. The incident...or incidents...occurred at 8:41...and 8:42...pm Friday.
