Slow Driving Leads to Injury Accident on I-57

State Police report at 12:45am Sunday a semi driven by Charles J. Wozniak, 72 of Metuchen, NJ was southbound on I-57 in the right lane traveling at a slow rate of speed two miles north of Effingham at mile post 164. A car driven by Kelby L. Williams, 32 of Effingham, came upon the semi and did not realize it was traveling that slow. Williams took evasive action and swerved left in an attempt to avoid the semi but the front right of the car struck the left rear of the semi-trailer and the car came to rest in the median.

Williams was taken by ambulance to HSHS St. Anthony's Hospital in Effingham.

Wozniak was cited for violating minimum speed regulations on the interstate.
