Strawberryfest Returns to Newton

After a one-year hiatus, Strawberryfest returns to Newton this weekend.

Activities are scheduled Friday evening and all day Saturday, mainly scheduled around the Jasper County Courthouse.

The Friday schedule:

3-5pm--Science Experiments

5-8pm--Lip Sync Battle

8pm (dusk)--Movie on the Square (Moana)

Saturday scheduled events:

5:30-10:30am--biscuits and gravy at the Masonic Lodge

6-10am--pancakes with strawberries at First Presbyterian Church

7:30-8:30am--Holy Yoga with Susan Shull on the northeast side of the square

9-10am--Pet Parade starting at Grace United Methodist Church

10am-noon--Animal Show with Wild Times Exotics

10am-8pm--Homemade Ice Cream Booth

11am-1pm--Lemonade Stand Competition with winners announced at 1pm

Noon-3pm--Party on the Square with DJ Music

1-2pm--Playdough Sculpting Contest with winners announced at 2pm

2-4pm--Pins and Pines Painting Party with classes on the east side of the square

3-3:30pm--Story Time w/Gigi

3:30-5pm--Brian Madrid the Hypnotist

5-6pm--Bags Tournament

6-8pm--The Ash Band
