One Injured in Monday Crash in Effingham

One person was injured in a crash in Effingham during the noon hour Monday.

City police say 34-year-old Lyndsey Walk of Effingham was injured when a vehicle driven by 79-year-old Edward Devries of Forest, Ontario, Canada turned in front of Walk's vehicle, resulting in a collision. Walk was taken by ambulance to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

No citations were issued. The crash occurred at 12:30pm Monday east of the intersection of Keller Drive and Avenue of Mid-America.

City police made several arrests over the long weekend, including an arrest of 31-year-old Brandy Schlanser of Beecher City on drug counts.

Schlanser was arrested on counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of hypodermic needles, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
