Chamber Ready for Next Workforce Wednesday Class

The Effingham County Chamber of Commerce will hold their next Workforce Wednesday Class "Hire Me! How to Answer Difficult Interview Questions" and "How to Get Your Resume Noticed and Land Interviews!" on Wednesday, June 7th, from 5:00-7:00pm at the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce Office at 903 N Keller Drive, Effingham, IL 62401. The Hire Me! series of classes are free and are held once a month, normally on the first Wednesday of the month, to provide job seekers in the region with interviewing, resume, and workplace communication skills. These classes are always taught by local Human Resource and Chamber professionals.  

June’s class will be co-taught by Tonya Griffith, People Services Specialist with HSHS Southern Illinois based out of St Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham and JoAnn Sasse Givens, Director of Workforce Development at Effingham County Chamber.

Ms. Griffith has ten years of Human Resources experience including temporary staffing, manufacturing, and retail and has a Bachelors of Science in Marketing from Eastern Illinois University. Ms. Givens has more than twenty years of Human Resources Recruitment Experience for diverse industries and holds a Bachelors of Arts from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.

JoAnn Sasse Givens stated, “Our employers have expressed a need to see candidates that are better prepared for the interview process. We have developed these classes in response to that need and want to help those looking for jobs to become skilled and confident in the interviewing process.”
