A teenage girl was killed and five other teens were injured in a crash in Crawford County Wednesday evening.

The crash occurred in a rural area at 5:15pm. State police say the driver, a 16-year-old girl from Robinson, was killed.

Police say the car was eastbound at what was termed "an excessive speed". The car struck gravel and the driver lost control. The vehicle skidded off the roadway to the north, then struck a ditch. The impact caused the car to overturn and strike a tree.

The girl died due to her injuries.

The five passengers, boys ages 17, 14 and 13, and girls ages 17 and 14, all from Robinson, were taken to Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson.

Police did not release the names of those involved.
