Former Effingham Priest Fr. Kuse to Retire

A Catholic priest who served St. Anthony of Padua parish in Effingham from 1980-1981 and 1984-1987 and who was Director of Vocations for the Diocese from 1988-2000, is celebrating his 50th Jubilee and will soon retire.

Fr. Michael Kuse will be honored Sunday, May 21st at an open house at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1119 South Seventh Street, Quincy, IL. Friends from the Effingham area are welcome to attend. Friends are encouraged to send cards of congratulations to blessedsac@adams.net or to the church. The open house is slated for 3 to 5 pm with a special presentation at 4:30 pm.

Fr. Kuse was born July 22nd, 1941. He was ordained a priest May 20th, 1967. He was awarded the title Monsignor in 2002.

Fr. Kuse will celebrate his 50th Jubilee Masses on May 20th and 21st in Quincy.  He will retire on June 30th, one month shy of his 76th birthday.
