State Crop Report for Week Ending April 16

There were 2.8 days suitable for fieldwork during the week ending April 16.

Statewide, the average temperature was 61.2 degrees, 10.0 degrees above normal. Precipitation averaged 0.85 inches, 0.24 inches below normal.

Topsoil moisture supply was rated at 4 percent short, 77 percent adequate, and 19 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated at 7 percent short, 81 percent adequate, and 12 percent surplus.

Corn planted was at 6 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 13 percent.

Winter Wheat headed reached 3 percent. Winter wheat condition was rated 2 percent very poor, 4 percent poor, 20 percent fair, 60 percent good, and 14 percent excellent.

Oats planted reached 57 percent. Oats condition was rated 3 percent poor, 22 percent fair, 66 percent good, and 9 percent excellent.

Pasture and range condition was rated at 2 percent poor, 21 percent fair, 57 percent good, and 20 percent excellent.
